Pierre-Axel Coulibeuf in his studio
Pierre-Axel Coulibeuf
Growing up in France, with a businessman father and an artist mother who studied at “Ecole des beaux Arts”, Coulibeuf wasn't obsessed with design. But there were inklings. Always finding ways to make his ideas come true, he was viewed as resourceful. Being the first in drawing class in middle school and living in the countryside at the time, he decided to study landscape design for four years before enrolling at an Interior Architecture school.
Coulibeuf worked in the hospitality industry, designing bars and restaurants for a few years before moving to London. With the desire to work with prestigious materials and on ambitious projects he met Simon, director at Charles Burnand Gallery and got a job. He learned about decoration and materials at a very high level and became the furniture and lighting designer of the gallery. The pieces Coulibeuf designed have been exhibited in prestigious fairs such as Nomad in Monaco and The salon in NYC but most of them are unique and not shown.
Coulibeuf currently lives in California where he finds peace and inspiration working from his studios in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. His pieces are exhibited in NYC, Geneva and Singapore.
